Countdown To Summer

We are officially weeks away from the first day of SUMMER! Can you tell I am over this weird, wet weather that Seattle has been having? I heard somewhere that this has been some of the coldest and wettest Spring weather that we have had in a long time, and I believe it. I am hoping that the month of June will just do a 180 and provide us with warm and sunny weather. Along with (hopefully) warmer weather, there are plenty of fun new activities and products going on at Fit Bar so I wanted to give you a little insight about it! 

To kick it off, Fit Bar is going to be at the Renton Farmers Market and we could NOT be more EXCITED! I have personally been attending this market since I moved to Renton and I am so excited to be a part of the community fun this year. We will be serving our famous acaí bowls, along with our plant-based waffles, and a few other items we serve year round at the cafe. The great thing about being at the market this year is that we are able to provide all of you with acaí bowls, after hours! Our cafes close at 3:30pm every day of the week, but having our place at the market means everyone can come get their superfood fix all the way up until 7:00pm on Tuesdays! I love the idea of serving refreshing items to our community while personally getting to soak up the sun and experience some nice Seattle weather. Since this will be Fit Bar’s first year attending, we hope to get some feedback from our community about our presence at the market, products that you want to see, and anything else you may want to let us know! Our mission is to spread our superfood knowledge to everyone and provide healthy, accessible products for everybody, and I think that starts within our own town. So spread the word, tag us on social media, and find us at the local Renton Farmers Market starting JUNE 7TH @ 3:30!

Some more exciting news that I am always so happy to share is the launch of some new products, available at both of our cafes. We are so pumped to be providing DateMeEnergy bites that are made locally and sustainably and make for the easiest on the go snack packed with superfoods. Our three powerful flavors include Sunflower Banana Butter, Spiced Chai, and the newest addition, Reishi Coffee. We have a flavor option for all different pallets and I promise that you are going to LOVE them, I know I sure do! Not only do these date bites align with our other menu items, the creators of these delicious treats are amazing humans and have made it their mission to create tasty on the go snacks, all while being eco friendly and locally sourced. Did I mention these energy bites are organic, gluten free, vegan, and soy free? Fit Bar is proud to offer these to our customers and community so if you haven’t already, pick up a pack next time you stop by one of our cafes. 

Although we are known for our nutrient packed acai bowls and protein smoothies, we do offer a variety of grab and go items for those that need a light pick me up or are short on time. While we have carried the brand Cured Nutrition CBD products in our cafes for awhile now, we have just this week introduced their new item and let me tell you, it is going to fly off the shelves. Euphoria CBD Elixirs, available in two flavors, is an all new caffeine and sugar free drink that will boost your mood and energy, without all the artificial crap. I don’t know if you had read the ingredient label on the best selling energy drinks or any energy drink you can find in the store for that matter, but it typically will consist of added sugars, artificial flavors and coloring, and a million more ingredients that you usually can’t pronounce. I don’t know about you but I find it best to know the ingredients that are going in my body and avoid anything that will potentially lead to an afternoon crash. These elixirs are the perfect bit of energy all while reducing anxiety, and are refreshing for these hot summer days we have coming up. Crisp Apple and Spicy Mango are both available at our Renton and West Seattle cafe, but probably not for long so don’t miss out! 

I am seriously counting down the days until the Renton Farmers Market, and I am so lucky to be a part of a community event where we can elevate each other and discover the hidden treasures of downtown Renton. Like I mentioned before, we will be serving our products until 7:00pm on Tuesdays so if you haven’t been able to make it into the cafe due to our hours or anything relating to that, this is the perfect opportunity for you to check us out! Keep an eye out for some new products, and other summer seasonal items that are now available for a few months. Don’t forget that we also recommend placing your cafe orders online throughout the week to minimize wait time while allowing our crew to provide you with the highest quality food and experience. We are looking forward to kicking off next week on a high note and look forward to seeing some regular customers AND new faces at our booth.

Spring Has Sprung at the Fit Bar

Is it just me or have these past three months of 2022 flown by? I feel like I say that every year but dang, I think I slept through January, February, and most of March because I pretty much don’t remember anything. I am SO excited that we are officially in Spring because with that comes warmer weather, more sunlight, more time spent outside, and just all around better moods! Not to mention Springtime at the Fit Bar is next level because we transition out of our Fall and Winter flavors and into our Spring and Summer items. 

Not only are we bringing back some seasonal favorites, we have over three NEW menu items that I can’t wait to share with you all. All of our new items, and our returning seasonal items are crafted with INTENT. We combine ingredients that not only create an insanely delicious flavor, but reward your body with benefits from all of the superfoods, leaving you feeling happy from the inside out! As the seasons change, so does produce and ingredients which is why we strive to source the best options and adapt accordingly. Berry season is one of my favorite parts about the weather becoming warmer and all the fun recipes we can experiment with. 

Our popular seasonal items include the Summer Solstice, a delicious blend of mango, pineapple, and a touch of banana for a perfect tangy blend, combined with lemon, ginger, coconut water, and finished with homemade pitaya jam swirl. Our Valentine’s smoothie special that we keep around for months after because it is THAT good, is the Cupid’s Crush - my personal favorite because it reminds me of a Starburst. Made with pitaya, strawberries, pineapple, raspberries, and a hint of ginger for an immune boost, along with added plant  protein to keep you satisfied for longer. I think the best part about these smoothies is that they are so hydrating which is perfect for warmer weather and summer days in the sun. Not to mention they are great post workout fuel. If you are looking for something a little more sweet and not as tart, our Spring Crush smoothie is similar to the others but includes blueberries and acai so it balances out the tartness of the lemon perfectly. Trust me, there is a seasonal option for everyone! 

You didn’t think we could enter 2022 without new and improved menu items did you? We have to give the people what they want! I think what is great about Fit Bar and our mission is that we have a solid foundation meaning our products and menu items that we sell are perfected and consistent so that those that order the same few items every time they come, they know exactly what to expect. I know there is nothing worse than having a specific craving only to be disappointed with the outcome of the product. We take pride in our consistency and ability to deliver the best products every single day. Because we have a solid foundation and have extreme confidence in our current offerings, we are able to get creative and bring in new products whether they come and go as seasonal items, or make them permanent because you guys love them so much. 

Let me introduce you to what could be my favorite menu item, bold statement I know

A couple months ago we switched matcha brands, we chose one that had an extra immune boost from Chaga mushroom combined with organic ceremonial matcha powder. I already love matcha as a hot or iced drink in the mornings or for an afternoon pick me up, but adding it to smoothie? Next level! I’m not talking B.S. Starbucks blended matcha that is basically drinkable powdered sugar, our version is top notch and delicious. My favorite thing about matcha is how healing it is for the body, the benefits are unmatched plus the small amount of caffeine it carries gives you that extra boost without an afternoon crash. Our Mushroom Matcha smoothie is blended with bananas, hemp hearts for healthy fats, protein to keep you full, and coconut milk for a creamy finish. This creation is simple yet carries all the micronutrients your body needs and is a perfect breakfast, snack, or even dessert! 

Our other two new creations happen to be perfect drinks to pair with just about anything, or even replace your typical morning coffee with if you need a change. Our HEALTH INSURANCE drink, served hot or iced is back with immune support and healing properties, similar to a tea made with soothing ingredients. Beet Lemonade Spritzers are a hot new item that I recommend getting your hands on before we sell out because these are going to be the perfect Summertime sippers. Raw beet powder, lemon juice, agave, and a hemp infused fruit tea all combined and served over ice come together to create the most refreshing drink. The hemp extract acts as a stress reliever while the pure beet powder boots energy and provides antioxidants. I don’t know about you but I would be running to Fit Bar for these new creations.

5 Micro Habits to Build Consistency

As a new year approaches, we may often find ourselves getting overwhelmed with to-do’s, goals, checklist, and the overall feeling of needing to “do more.”

While our tribe at Fit Bar encourages goal setting, it doesn’t mean that we believe we only get one chance, each year, to highlight what we want, who we want to be, or what we want to do.

We understand that each day we rise is a chance to show up, and work towards our bigger picture.

Many of us want the grand movements and actions that make us feel like our progress is folding over daily, turning the pages of our book. Progress that doesn’t only look measurable, but feels it, as well.

When is the last time you felt like you hit a goal or checked something off your to-do list that made you smile with a sigh of relief?

We all know that feeling and we've been conditioned to believe that such is the feeling to chase.

It brings us closer to our goals, success, joys, eliminates our failures, and gives us the ultimate sense of accomplishment. 

But what if I told you that chasing goals and sighing big sighs, isn't the only way to grab what you want in the universe. 

I’ll have you consider that by simply building habits around the person you want to be and life you want to have, your goals will align themselves.

Those sighs of relief will soon be in every micro movement of your being, as you are building your complete picture, internally, which will be the foundation of all external growth. 

Habit based growth, I like to call it. Where we commit to us, hard, with action and intention, no matter the challenges we face.

 

Here are 5 Mirco habits that have brought my life Macro Growth.

 

1.The Practice of Gratitude

Express it. Live it. Be thankful for all experiences, even the ones that put us down, as we rise in gratitude and strength to build ourselves daily. Start with a morning mantra of gratitude or affirmation.

Simply, repeat, “I am thankful” to start the practice of bringing gratitude into your heart.

If you already practice a life of gratitude, think of one way you can share it in a different way.

2. Staying Curious.

They say curiosity killed the called, but they often forget cats live many lives! It is our curiosity that allows us to write each day new.

When emotions get high, or heavy, instead of letting them over take us, ask the question, “why am I feeling this way.” Going deeper with ourselves will allow us to stay curious in other places.

Asking questions and remaining open to information gives us the platform to change and grow in the moment at hand. Staying curious allows us a chance to understand, and understanding is the root of growth.

3. Making a list.

Some people plan their months, years, weeks, days, down to the second... That can be overwhelming for some, that’s why it’s important to make a list in a way that works for you.

Each day will call for its own priorities that’s why although planning the long-haul is great but, being adaptable enough to create a day-of list bring our priorities to the forefront and allows us to achieve the micro victories that build consistency.

Take 5-10 min the night before to build a list that reflects the most important agenda for you!

I like to keep my list simple and clear, start with the #1 priority for the day.

Don’t be afraid to adjust your list and rearrange your priorities.

By understanding we will always have things to get done, but it is a matter of importance, we will execute more priorities and as we tackle the most important, the little ones simply feel like mega victories.

Even if you only get your #1 thing done for the day, know that the next day you will start with your #2 item and continue to go from there.

Many people X their list or priorities all together when they can’t get them all done or have to rearrange things. That is a big disservice to ourselves, and instead of saying okay I accept defeat today, just going to wing it cause ______ happened, we counter and say, this happened but I still need to get this done today, not tomorrow because it was your number one priority for the day.

4. Building a Daily Routine.

Routines are the bridges of consistency, I like to think.

Whether it be drinking your coffee in the morning, hitting your walk, journaling, listening to music, crafting, etc.

Try to dedicate 10-60 minutes a day, where you focus on a routine that restores and balances you.

This is a non-negotiable priority that should be reflected or allotted space for on your day of to-do list.

Remember, routines do not have to be elaborate, they can be very simple or as wild as your heart would like!

5. Staying Clear. Staying Intentional.

The biggest-and to me-most important aspect to building consistency is staying clear on the vision of your life and yourself, that you are trying to create.

Remember, we create the life we want and determine who we are, by our actions and choices today.

How do you get clear on what you want? Who you want to be? How you want to live?

The answer that could last a thousand pages, right!

It starts with intentional living.

Be present. Align your actions, with your words. Practice, practice, practice.

It is okay to say, this is new for me, but I will work on it. The self-talk we create makes or breaks our vision. Self-doubt takes away our clarity, so it’s important to create a dialogue with ourselves that is supportive and understanding.

Also, if you just don't know what you want, start by writing it down!

One at a time: they type of person you want to be, the things you want to do, the impact you would like to have as an individual, how you want to show up in your relationships, etc.

Be so clear that the only thing that needs sharpening is the pencil in your hand to keep going.
